Our Purpose
Mini Monsters Learning offers a fun, personalized education for K–2nd graders through small-group, hands-on learning. Born from a desire to give my own children a joyful, engaging alternative to traditional schooling, we focus on interactive lessons, STEAM and Montessori-inspired stations, and meaningful peer connections. Our goal is to help every child thrive by making learning exciting, creative, and truly individualized.
Our Team
Mr. Andrew
Andrew is the founder and teacher of Mini Monsters Learning, bringing over 12 years of teaching experience to the classroom. He spent 9 years teaching in public schools before transitioning to a more personalized style of education as a homeschooling and micro-school educator for the past three years. He holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and a master’s degree in reading curriculum and development. His background in literacy and passion for student-centered learning are the foundation of the program’s success.
In 2023, Andrew started Mini Monsters Learning with the goal of offering families a high-quality, hands-on learning experience that’s both challenging and fun. He wanted to create a unique educational environment where students are supported at their individual level and encouraged to grow in a free and independent setting.
Andrew believes that learning should be fun, meaningful, and full of discovery. His approach is rooted in interactive, collaborative lessons that inspire curiosity and confidence in students. Whether it’s a science experiment, a creative writing session, or a group project, he works to make each day an engaging learning experience that kids look forward to. Mini Monster’s goal is to build a space where students feel safe to explore, ask questions, and become independent thinkers.
Outside the classroom, Andrew enjoys spending time with his two sons. He loves being active and plays pickleball, soccer, and tennis whenever he can. He also enjoys relaxing with family, and watching sports.
Ms. Katie
Katie is a passionate educator with a heart for helping every child thrive. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary and Special Education from Arizona State University and has earned her Reading Specialist Endorsement, equipping her to support students at all levels of literacy development.
With seven years of experience teaching in public schools and the past two years working privately with students, Katie brings a wealth of knowledge, creativity, and compassion into her teaching. She believes in meeting each learner where they are and creating a joyful, confidence-building learning environment.
At the core of her teaching philosophy is the belief that curiosity is the foundation of meaningful education. She strives to spark that curiosity in every lesson, encouraging her students to ask questions, explore deeply, and become lifelong learners who love discovering the world around them.
Outside of teaching, you’ll likely find her baking something sweet (and gluten free) in the kitchen, spending time with her dogs, grabbing coffee with friends, or cheering on her nieces and nephews at their sporting events. She also serves as the Director of Marketing and Events for the nonprofit Project 34, a cause close to her heart that supports individuals with spinal cord injuries.
